OUTLINE
Election Results from a Biblical Perspective
Col. 4:2-6

Intro
A. Monumental Event
B. Observations from Biblical Perspective

I. God answers prayer!
A. Mistake to attribute results to secondary causes.
B. Answered prayer to “expose the hidden works of darkness.”
Answered prayer by raising up leaders.
Only took a remnant.
C. We have been focused on 2 Chron. 7:14
D. Confounded the wise with His wisdom. Eccl. 9:11

II. We must receive this deliverance with humility and thanksgiving.
A. Pray that winning party will receive this with humility and gratitude toward God.
Appreciate concession speeches and acceptance speech.
Address concerns of all Americans. Compassionate vetting of immigrants.
B. Thank God for protection from evil forces.
C. This is a reprieve: “to give relief or deliverance to for a time.”
III. Seize the opportunity or right back where we were.
A. Realize the election did not solve all our problems.
$ 20 trillion debt
Alternative to Obamacare not easy
World is very dangerous place
Therefore, 1 Tim. 2:1-2 Prayer must continue

B. Seize the opportunity we now have
Col 4:2-6 “Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;
          meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word,
          to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains, 4 that I may make
          it manifest, as I ought to speak. 5 Walk in wisdom toward those who are
outside, redeeming the time. 6 Let your speech always be with grace,
seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one
.”

C. Must win lost souls “one by one” to shift culture (esp. Millennials).
“For all sad words of tongue and pen, the saddest are these, ‘It might have
been’” (J.G. Whittier).
Reprieve in Hezekiah’s day not well used.
Examples of some who seized their opportunity.
May we do likewise!
