Psalm 107 is a call to worship based on God’s lovingkindness in His dealings with us. The song has four stanzas with a motif consisting of the following pattern:
1. Paths often chosen in life.
2. Problems that arise. The trouble described in each story is different, but the solution is the same for every case.
3. Prayer in which the person in trouble cries out to God for help.
4. Power of God demonstrated in His deliverance of the person out of the trouble.
5. Praise.
This Psalm provides insight for understanding and responding to trouble in our lives and how God’s interaction with us becomes the foundation for genuine worship.
This sermon is the second half of a study begun by Jeanie Tow on 10/05/14 and leads to a celebration of God’s lovingkindness.
